Make Ahead French Toast Casserole
18 slices of bread cubed
12 eggs
10-12 oz. package cream cheese (low fat is fine)
1 1/4 cup milk (low fat or skim is fine)
3/4 cup maple syrup or pancake syrup
Dash of cinnamon
Splash of vanilla extract
Preheat Oven: 350°
Place 9 pieces of cubed bread in 9 x 13 greased casserole
dish. Add cubed 12 ounces cream cheese. Top with remaining 9 pieces of
cubed bread.
In bowl whisk 12 eggs, 1 ¼ cup milk and ¾
cup maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla. Pour over bread and
cream cheese.
Cover dish with lid or foil. Place in refrigerator
over night.
Remove from refrigerator approx. 30 minutes prior
to baking.
Bake covered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Uncover and continue to bake for approx. 20-25 minutes or until desired
appearance. Serve warm with maple syrup.
